DSD Output as SPDIF
« on: January 27, 2014, 05:50:34 pm »

I have been trying to set up JR19 to output DSD SPDIF to a Concero HD and use the Concero as a SPDIF converter.  No luck.  I can output SPDIF in PCM resolutions, but not DSD.  I have searched the posts, but can't seem to find the proper settings.  Please let me know of you have had success and what the proper setting might be.  Thanks,

DSD wont pass through SPDIF, DSD exceeds the SPDIF standards.

DSD wont pass through SPDIF, DSD exceeds the SPDIF standards.
That is not correct.

The Concero HD passes DSD-64 over the Coax digital output using DOP only (not native DSD).  DSD128 does exceed the specification of SPDIF.

So, you have to use MC19's "use DOP" checkbox.

Are you using ASIO or WASAPI ?

I am corrected. DoP over SPDIF should work for DSD 64, but not native DSD.

S/PDIF is only designed to support signals up to 96kHz
DoP requires a 176.4kHz signal.

However, some S/PDIF interfaces do exceed the spec and will work if all hardware supports it. (the transmitter, receiver, and cable)

I can confirm that DoP works over S/PDIF at 176400 kbps...
