FLAC playback at 320kbps
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:54:31 pm »

I have been using MC for several years and recently upgraded to MC19 on a Windows 8.1 Desktop. I send the music to a Pioneer SC-61 through ethernet and all was well until a week ago. All my music is in FLAC format and that is what it played at through my SC-61 until about a week ago. It now it shows the Format as MP3 on the TV screen at a bit rate of 320kbps. I have confirmed it is FLAC in the media library. So why is it playing through the stereo in mp3 format. Could this be a hardware issue withe SC-61? Like I said, all was well until a week ago. I can't find anything in the wiki or the Pioneer documentation that addresses this. Any ideas?

Check under Media Network for the settings of MC'S UPnP /DLNA server. You probably inadvertently changed it so that it is converting to MP3. Change this back to "original"...

THANK YOU! That worked....sometimes I can't see the forest through the tress I guess. Not sure how I changed that setting or even if I did change it. But it was set to re-format the stream on the fly to MP3 and your suggestion fixed it. I am back to listening to good quality music on my SC-61 through MC19. I LOVE it. Thanks again for your help.
