I've got many album folders which contain various jpg and pdf files (covers and notes for the album).
As they were not tagged, I tried MrC method to get them automatically tagged from folders name (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=76421.msg518510#msg518510)
 The problem is that many of them got an underscore for all the System forbidden characters, so I wonder if there's an easy and fast way to get the Album and Artist tags for jpg and pdf from the audio files which are in the same folder.

Any suggestion?

You can use global variables to save these values.  I describe one technique here:

The important point to note is that all the files are in the same folder, so the per-folder global variable names will contain the values you can mass-assign to your artist and album values.
