Compilation Albums In Music Library
« on: May 03, 2014, 12:58:46 am »

I am currently in the process of re-ripping my CD collection to Flac format and, in sorting out the library, have found myself a little baffled as to how the compilation albums get into the (Multiple Artists) category.
It is all working fine but I'm just trying to understand what is designating them as compilations in the system.

Some of the albums have the library field 'Album Artist' set to (Multiple Artists), but not all of them. Also some of the albums have the library field 'Mix Album' set to '1' but again not all of them.
In the past I have sometimes manually set the 'Album Artist' field to (Multiple Artists) when the album has appeared in the wrong place because I thought I needed to but maybe that is not required after all.

So, basically, what does designate an album as a compilation and what should I do to make an album appear in the (Multiple Artists) category.
