A real newbie, trying to get a computer audio system to work.  How can I get JRiver to stream the music over an existing network to an Apple TV to play through an older stereo?  I cannot get Itunes to work as it will not read the my music library.  A small amount of computer information may be helpful here, I am running a I3 Intel NUC (computer) with an SSD drive containing Win 7 and JRiver Media 19.  My large library, 350 plus Albums resides on an external 2 tb hard drive.  The 2 tb drive shows up as Drive D.  JRiver has no problems with this, but Itunes does really not want to deal with the external drive.  I followed Apples directions and only about 35 of albums will load-in.  How do I get the JRiver to stream my music collections over Apple TV to the Stereo?  Thank you any help

You can't without using a separate, standalone iOS device, currently.

JRemote can AirPlay to the AppleTV, so that's one way.  You might be able to do it with a third party app that can play via AirPlay, though no solutions are really ideal.

I think if they open up the AppleTV to third party development, then we have a chance to have a "JRemote for AppleTV".

Otherwise though... Nothing easy or perfect.

Thank you for your help.  I am investigating the JRemote.  Will the JRemote for Android work with Airplay?  We have several Android devices, but presently no Ipads or Iphones.  Although that could change.

Not without a third-party app, and I have no idea of the status of those.

One thing I haven't tried, but might work decently, is AirParrot:

I have Reflector by them (which does the reverse, and makes a Windows or Mac machine into an AirPlay "receiver"), and it is ok.
