When I play a playlist of mixed DSD and PCM  tracks, the transition from a DSD track to a PCM one is problematic. At the end of the DSD track the playback gets caught in a 2-3 second loop. Sometimes this ends after one or two cycles and the following PCM track plays. Sometimes the loop continues, and sometimes the loop is resolved by the PCM track being skipped and the next track in the playlist is played.

I've experienced this both in WASAPI and ASIO, DoP.

I just upgraded from MC18 to 19, I wasn't experiencing this in 18. I did sometimes get a "click" in this scenario, but not a loop.

I wonder if it's the hardware changing sample rates that is the issue?  Set DSP Studio > Output format to 44,100 for all inputs as a test.  Does that work?

No, still does it. If it helps, I'm using a Mytek 192 DSD DAC.

As I wrote in my original post, I didn't have this problem till I updated from MC18 to 19.

I am experiencing the same issue.
This happens when bitstreaming DoP. With native DSD it seems to be fine.
As a work around this issue to use DoP, I am using foo_dsd_asio as the output device. I do not set the bitstream in DoP format in the device settings.
My DAC supports native DSD but it works better with DoP. In the foo_dsd_asio setup I can choose DoP. It will convert DSD native streams from MC to DoP.

I also noted that the loop length changes according to the prebuffering size set in Options/Audio/Settings.

I can confirm that I also don't have the problem if using Foobar for playback and my DAC (Mytek) in either DoP or Native DSD. Both FW and USB output work fine.

With MC19 it occurs everytime I playback a playlist that includes a DSD track (dsf) followed by a PCM track in DoP. Both Asio and Wasapi.  All types of PCM, it doesn't matter the format. Both FW and USB. It doesn't happen if I go from DSD track to DSD track.

A workaround for me with MC19 is to use Native DSD. This works in USB but doesn't work in FW, which requires DoP to work with the Mytek DAC.

In other words, the problem is clearly with MC, as Foobar doesn't exhibit this behavior. I'd like a solution for DoP, as FW is my preferred output.

I uninstalled the latest stable 19 version, including removing registry settings.

Went back to 18.0.202. That works. Both FW and USB under DoP.

Hopefully MC20 will be better.

Install MC 19.0.146. It does not have this and other issues.
Make sure to disable automatic update.
