"Please select file(s) to play."
« on: February 09, 2002, 05:43:09 am »

When visiting a site like Shoutcast, I select "Tune In" and MediaJukebox pop up with a message saying "Please select file(s) to play."

Shoutcast is using a ".pls" file format which MediaJukebox is associated with.

If I right-click on the "Tune In" link and select "Save Target As...", I can download the "target" and double click on it to get MediaJukebox to play it.

I'm sure this is not how it should work.

Is there a fix?

Hey Dan, are you using Media Jukebox 7 or 8?

And if you don't mind some bugs, could you try 8 and let us know if it still doesn't work there?

(available in the MJ 8.0.xxx beta thread)

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm running version 7.2.280.  In all honesty, I'm really not interested in loading a beta version of anything.  Guess I'm just "Microsoft weary."

Anyway, I'm experiencing this problem with both of my home PC's.  I'm running W2K on each and am behind a router.  I've had plenty of "issues" with MediaJukebox - can't register, volume slider on the editor doesn't work, etc. - that seem to be related to W2K as when I try a Windows 98 machine, everything seems to work.

I still like the product - even with these annoyances.  Maybe I'll give V8 a try when I have some time on my hands.

Thanks anyway!
