Leftover folders

Media Center is leaving behind orphaned folders when using "Rename files from properties" to rename and move files.

I use a 2-tier folder structure per album (/[Artist]/[Album]) and MC is consistently leaving behind the orphaned [Artist] folder

I can't reproduce this.  Maybe you have folder.jpg in the folder or something?

Well, yes . . .  but I am working in MC's explorer and renaming the folder.jpg and others along with the audio files. I am leaving no files behind.
Besides, if there was something left in the folder then wouldn't both parent and child folders be left behind?

One scenario where this happens
- single file + cue
- convert to individual files
- move

The folders are not deleted because the CUE is in them
