Syncing my audio on JRiver to Google Music
« on: September 27, 2014, 06:11:30 pm »

I'm assuming that this has been discussed preciously, however, I can't seem to find a thread that addresses this query directly. I recently moved from an iPhone to an Moto X (2nd Gen). Until yesterday did I remember that I had at one time used Google Music to store music on the cloud (back in the day when my library was still in .mp3 format). I now use JRiver exclusively for file management/audio playback of all my music re-ripped in .flac format. Seeing as I only have 16 gig of storage on my new phone is there a way to actively sync my music on JRiver to my Google Music account. I realize that it down converts the music, but, its nice to have all of it on the cloud while I'm away from home. As of right now, the only way I can figure out how to do this is to upload my entire music folder manually to Google Music. Is this the only way to do it, or is there a simpler way using JRiver?

Cheers!

If all your music is on your local computer using JRiver, you can use the Gizmo app to access your entire library on your PC from your phone.

Thank you. I'm aware of this, but, I'm interested on syncing my entire library to my Google Music so I could listen to my music library when I'm not on my local network.

Gizmo allows you to connect from anywhere.... I use it in the car all the time to stream from my Home PC to my phone then Bluetooth to my car stereo. ;) It's your own cloud!

OK. Thank you for mentioning that, but, to your knowledge then there's no easy way to sync with Google Music?

<------       Knows that Gizmo will achieve exactly what the OP wants to do, at higher quality than Google Music, with no downside really.

<---------      knows of one downside . . . . you must have your media server running and online while you are away from home, while Google Play is always online

I use google music.
The google music manager will upload your music for you. How easy depends on how you manage your files on disk.
I use a network drive so i just set google "music manager" to upload drive x and all my music is uploaded.

Ah, perfect. An answer. Everything is nicely managed using Google Music Manager. Thank you! To the other posters than you, but, normally when I'm on the road my JRiver is usually not running. Then again 320 kbps vs .flac is hardly noticeable on earbuds anyways. Only, need pure .flac on my home system.

<---------      knows (now) that sometimes one forgets that not everyone keeps a 24/7 running media server.  :-[

Using Google Music Manager doesn't fix one issue: your JRiver playlists.
Is there a way to sync them using JRiver MC or something else?
