I have the HP MCE remote receiver with an RTi remote programmed to talk to it. This was working well (after much confusion as described in http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=91680.0) but now seems to only respond to a single keypress of any key until another button is pressed or unless you press and hold, i.e.

press and hold = race through a list
press once = move once, ne'er to move again until you press something else

ISTR seeing a comment about this being a known problem with a specific fix somewhere but I can't find it now. Any ideas?

NB: as far as I can see from winlirc, the PC is seeing a stream of individual presses so this doesn't look like a remote or receiver issue, more a software issue.
