I think he means the readout in the lower left corner of DSP studio labelled "Peak level."  It shows the currently playing real-time signal level as a percentage where 100%= 0 dBFS, which is helpful for seeing if material is likely to clip, but unhelpful the rest of the time because volume scales logarithmically. Once the active signal gets below about -12dBFS (which is almost always if you have volume levelling engaged) it's very hard to get useful info from that readout (as everything below that is crammed into a small number of percents at the bottom).

I'm also in favor of converting it to a -dBFS readout rather than a percentage if possible.

Well that gets my vote too. I'd guess that it would be best to stick with percentage by default and display dBFS if clicked. (as a toggle that remembers the current mode)
