Playback issue with JRemote 3.09
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:00:54 pm »

Robert,

Thank you so much for correcting the playback issue I experienced in v3.08. I have not heard any of the one or two second pauses that occurred during playback in v3.08.

Unfortunately, I have experienced a new playback issue/problem with v3.09. When playing gapless tracks (e.g. R.E.M.'s Unplugged: The Complete 1991 and 2001 Sessions), the app abruptly quits in between tracks. In previous versions, I had experienced less than one second pauses between tracks on my live/gapless albums. I do not have any issues with these files on MC. The files are lossless FLAC, and the issue occurs with both native playback and transcoding.

Please let me know if I can provide any further information or if there if a simple solution to this issue (e.g., reinstalling the app, ticking some toggle switch, etc.).

Best regards,
Tim

Hm, is this happening to this specific tracks only?

Can`t say that I have seen this myself, and no reported similar issues so far.
You could always try to reinstall the app, it does sometimes help.

Let me know how it goes. If the issue is related to a specific track I may need to get the file from you for testing.

BTW, gapless files should not have any gaps at all in JRemote.

With transcode enabled gapless files do have a gap! Right?

Yes sorry, transcoded files still have a gap. I assumed Tim was testing this without transcoding.

Sorry for the tardy reply guys. In answer to your question, I was using the transcoding option. I've had no problems when disabling transcoding. Thanks again for all of your hard work on this spectacular app.

Best regards,
Tim
