JRemote and Internet Radio ?
« on: November 04, 2014, 05:36:46 am »

Hi
I have been using JRemote with iPhone for quite a while. It's excellent !
Is there a simple way to listen / browse Internet Radio, controlled by JRemote ?
Same question for youtube (I know it was impossible in the past).
Thanks, Yair

yair,

I was searching for some radio-related info and saw that no one has replied to you. I am far from expert but yes, I do have radio links working with J remote and the WDM driver, with one limitation. If you open a URL from a *.pls file that J River can play directly it works fine with J Remote; however, radio streaming URL's that need to open a separate browser window work via J Remote, and you can also stop play with J Remote, but as far as I can tell there is no way to close the browser window and have whatever player it uses stop streaming, so you have to do this via the desktop itself. It is quite possible that there is a way around this, in fact I am searching the forums right now. Hopefully someone will chime in. I have not tried youtube yet but I am pretty sure it would work... again, hopefully someone with deeper knowledge will chime in!

Hi Bob
Thanks for that.
Here's what I did:
- I used the Connected Media tab with specific links.
- I added each entry to a dedicated playlist.
- Once you have it in playlists, you can access them through JREmote.
Kinda funny way of doing it, but it works most of the times  ;D
Cheers, Yair

I´m hoping that we can do proper radio integration this year.
I know it has been talked about.

I came here googling as I'm looking for a way to have remote control of the mouse to navigate a web page; I normally use JRemote (with the mc 19) for music btw.
Unfortunatelly the yairf's trick, I immediatelly tried, seems not to work with a web site like youtube.com
I see no way to add the url in connected media to a playlist; simply it cannot be dragged.

Any suggestion is really welcome
ciao

I would love to see the ICE:INFO and header messages beeing parsed by the MC before handing the stream to the DLNA device and having this messages beeing displayed by JRemote.
So we could properly see bitrate, station name and song Title / Info within JRemote ......

I will support this feature with a good bottle of French champagne to the development team after the feature has been implemented -:)
