Drop outs in newest version
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:47:15 am »

I updated to the newest version about a week ago. Ever since the update I've started having drop-out issues. Right in the middle of playback the song will cut out for a second, then continue on.
I've had this issue in last versions, but it then gone in the last software update, but now it's back.

Please help.

Thanks

Same problem here:

Occasionally (not reproducible) there is a dropout in playback.

If i try to play the same title from it's beginning, there is no dropout any more.
Only some time later the next dropout appears.
Dropout is not quite the correct term here because it doesn't drop to full silence but only gets more quiet for a fraction of a second.

I had a demonstration of the aria music server (http://ariamusicserver.com) lately, where i perceived the same kind of dropouts.
The aria server uses JRiver MC as their software, too - i think the Unix version.

This is very annoying.

Try increasing the buffering in Options > Audio > Device settings.

Just adding my 2 cents here.  I also noticed a TON of drop outs on my Mac the other day, doesn't happen with Windows and used to not happen in OSX either.  Something must have changed here because older builds also did not have this issue.
