"Guide" - Show Channels With No EPG Data
« on: December 31, 2014, 10:21:43 am »

How can I have channels with no EPG data also shown in the "Guide" view? I'd like to set the grid "Guide" as the primary view for TV, having there the option to navigate through all channels. Those with no data could show blank line and clicking on it could start playing the channel. Is that currently possible?

Let me take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year.

It is not possible.  Current guide design is based on available program entries.

could you not auto default an entry with no guide data as just a line. It would be good to see programmes in the guide without any data as at the moment they just do not show up.

With the current functionality available in MC you should be able to import an XMLTV file for the channels that have no data, in addition to your normal EPG data load.

You would need to create the dummy XMLTV files externally to MC, and it would need to have the correct dates and times for the period concerned. But that is all doable.

The other alternative is to find an XMLTV EPG source for the channels that currently don't have data, and load that using MC functionality.

I believe there is good reason for not having channels with no EPG data show up in the Guide. Something to do with Grouped and/or Stacked channels I think. A search may find some reference to it.
