JRemote - System shutdown option
« on: April 01, 2015, 09:17:44 am »

Hi,

Since last versions of MC (or JRemote ?), the shutdown option doesn't work properly.
Sometimes it happens 1 min after I've pushed the button (on JRemote), sometimes it doesn't works at all.

No change on my system, only MC or JRemote upgrades.
Any idea ?

regards.

Actually, it never worked for me.

When I saw these option I though they cannot work until unless you give local admin. credentials to JRemote. JRemote is remote for JRiver, how could it issue extremely sensitive commands of Shutdown, Restart..without such rights.

"Access to the Remote Registry or membership in the Administrators group on the remote computer is the minimum required to complete this procedure." from https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770416.aspx

JRemote would tell MC, and MC performs the shutdown. That way JRemote doesn't need to know any system credentials.
