Should this work as DLNA server
« on: April 05, 2015, 01:38:43 pm »

Trying  to use a media streamer Neotv max by Netgear. This is for movies only.

To stream my ripped movies, it requires DLNA server. Can't see windows shares

I have media center 19 on a win7 computer on the network and placed the movies in its library.

The neotv device sees a DLNA server on my network.  Apparently this is the one that comes on Windows MediaPlayer.  It has limitations, mainly won't play mkv files (without hacking about). Thus sub optimal.

But the JRiver Server is not seen. Media center has its server booted  when loaded.

Does this make sense (that it is not seen) and can it be remedied ( to make it usable)

Thanks

You may need to turn on Media Network.  See the topic of the same name on our wiki.

If you've done that, then a firewall may be blocking MC.

I forgot to do your first suggestion.  That got things righted...

Thanks
