i am looking for a way to count number of albums available.

i cannot find any rule that allows to do this.

In album thumbnail view ( at the bottom), it shows me in the status bar

x files ( x GB - x days)

would it be possible to add the #of thumbnails or sum of albums displayed in this view ?

x files ( x GB - x items - x days)

could not think of the right word for items ( since it depends on the context,) for audio it would be albums, video would be titles, images would be just images)



what do ppl think ?

lets see if we can take this count concept further. would like to have group counts.

At times its useful to know how many items are listed in the panes. At present it only shows how many files are represented by the items in the panes.

so the status bar shows after clicking on a view scheme (say genre/artist/album)

x files ( x GB - x days)


how bout

x files  ( x GB - x days) [ View Scheme has x Genre(s) ,y  Artist(s), z Album(s) ]

The bolded items would represent the counts of the pane titles ( in this case Genre, Artist, album but ideally they would be whatever pane title ( append (s) to the end) the user chose in the view scheme

get the idea !

This provides a way to count items in any group represented by the panes.
