Unusual Playback Behavior While Recording
« on: April 08, 2015, 06:43:35 am »

I ran into an odd situation last night watching a show while it was recording.  This was the recording schedule
8 PM - Channel 806 NCIS
9 PM - Channel 806 NCIS NO
10 PM - Channel 806 POI

9 PM - Channel 808 Marvel
10 PM - Channel 808 Forever

Around 10:30 I decided I wanted to watch Forever while it was still recording.  The strange part is that when I selected it from Theater view or Standard view, Marvel started to play back from the beginning, however the time bar indicted it was 90 minutes in to recording.  I was able to skip ahead and find the point at which Forever started.

Since I saw the described behavior, I also attempted to watch POI while it was recording and sure enough, when I selected it, JRiver started playing NCIS from the beginning.  It too had the extended time line running all the way through the current recording progress of POI.

I went back to Forever, skipped past Marvel to the correct starting point and watched it in its entirety. Compounding the strange behavior, I find this morning that Forever it is not tagged as having been watched. (Number of Plays is NULL)   Marvel, appropriately, is also unwatched.

All shows appear normal this morning and start play back correctly.

I use a client / server setup and always watch from a client.  The recording is being done at the server with .ts as the recording format

Any input?  Has this been confirmed as a problem?

This is not expected behavior and I have not seen it.  I will try reproducing it.

For an upcoming new build:

Fixed: When LS client played a currently recording TV show, in TS format, that was the latest of a series of consecutive recordings on the same channel, the playback started at an earlier show, instead of the current show.

Yipee!    ;D

Seriously, THANKS!
I don't run across it too often, but can be a bit annoying when it does.
