Now that I have found out that webcam devices can also be used as TV devices I wonder how to use them?
Run through the setup and now have two "Camera" channels (based on webcam devices) listed in the "Channel" tab.

But now: what next? How to I "watch" my webcam?

Found out that I have to dblclick the channel name.

But now JRiver crashes every time I want to watch the webcam's video?

I use the IP Webcam driver for Windows (device name: MJPEG camera)
which allows to transform any Android smart phone into a network webcam which
appears to be connected to a Windows PC.

So that a Windows PC with a local tuner can be used as server?

You can create a channel that is associated with a WebCam.  If you make a custom view of TV channels, you will be able to play it in Theater View.  Not sure about other things.

Yeah I know that it's possible. But currently JRiver crashes with the required webcam Have you had a look at the crash logs?

I want to share the webcam via DLNA and wonder how that could be done...

I have not looked at the logs carefully.  I might do more on Monday.  However, it looks like your device driver did something funny.  I can use my webcams just fine.

can those channels be subscribed to?  set to record live streams from cams tablets etc?

Did some more testing and the following works fine with devices under MC's Television control (eg DVT Cards, Web Cams etc)
- Can play locally (of course)
- Library Server Clients can pull the content and it plays on the PC
- EOS can pull the content and it plays on the tablets just fine

Things that do not work are:
- You can not "push" these items to a 3rd party renderer (eg when I try to use EOS as a Control Point pulling from one MC Instance as the Server and playing on another MC Instance as the Renderer it just passes an URL to a web browser).
