Getting started and EPG
« on: July 27, 2015, 06:52:15 am »

Hi ,I am just trying this out and cant get very far. I am using Jr 20 on a windows 7 pc with a tv card. I want to set it up so I can frecord and playback tv programs. The wiki getting started guide... says
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/EPG

..MC20+

Starting with MC20, there is a Setup wizard for setting up TV channels and EPG. The entire wizard is best described in another article. Here only the steps that involve EPG will be described.
1. Country and Postal Code
On the first page of the TV Setup wizard, make sure you select your country from the list, and type your postal code correctly. etc

I have followed the intructions  but no program guide to be seen.

How can I go through the wizard again or check the settings ?

Thanks

We are experiencing a temporary disruption of service.  Microsoft apparently is not updating the EPG data.

More discussion is in this thread:

"We are experiencing a temporary disruption of service.  Microsoft apparently is not updating the EPG data."

Microsoft is updating EPG data.  I know this because my other pc, with MS Media Center is doing fine with 12 days of data.

In MC20 Television, the channels are all there, but there is no program listing.  I can neither watch nor record TV.

Am I going to have to make a trip to the Comcast office to pick up a new set top box?   :'(

I can neither watch nor record TV.

Until the EPG situation get sorted out, you can go to:

Standard View > Television > All Programs > then double click either the channel name to a program name.

Once you are watching a channel, you can change channels using the number buttons on your remote.

You can also still set time based recordings to record shows, or start and stop recordings once you are watching a channel.

See this thread, starting at about this point, for info on the EPG situation: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=98447.msg684802#msg684802
