MC is built for Debian linux and works easiest with it.
Since all of the audio processing is done in MC there is no particular reason to use an "audiophile" version of linux.

Debian linux and Ubuntu linux system is too large, is not suitable for a single player system as MC. Contrary streamlined real-time kernel linux is more suitable for individual installation MC as player. MC has a powerful media management and playback capabilities, if there is a special streamlined real-time kernel linux system, it would be a very meaningful thing.

MC fully integrated real-time kernel under linux, similar to daphile system, which is more suitable for use as a separate player.

MC has the strength after all, only in the remote client can make some changes.I suggest that you do some of this work. It would be a great thing.

It's hard to understand how you think MC could be improved.   Please explain.

I'm sorry but you are mistaken.  Making the OS smaller would not affect the quality of the sound.

The distro sounds like snake oil to me, however if you want to get it working it seems to be based off Arch Linux - if you do a search of these forums, you should find some topics regarding getting it working in Arch Linux.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

Please try Debian or one of the other distros at the top of this board.
