Focus problem in 10.0.90
« on: March 12, 2004, 09:38:18 am »

At regular time intervals the MC window suddenly becomes the foreground window, stealing the focus away from whatever you were doing.

How regular?  Can you isolate what MC was doing?  Does it happen even when it isn't playing?  Are there any dialogs visible in MC when it happens?

Thanks Marcel.

* How regular?

every few minutes

* Can you isolate what MC was doing?

just playing mp3 files, window maximized

Does it happen even when it isn't playing?

yes, but I think only once ?

Are there any dialogs visible in MC when it happens?

no

I think it happens when it is trying to flush the last played id3 field to the mp3 file on disk ?

Marcel

addition to above,

I just saw the infamous  :) 'saving database' dialog box

and just when that dialog box disappeared, the MC window made itself the foreground window

Marcel,

Do you have any MC plugins or 3rd party apps running that could cause this?

Has anyone else seen this?

this only started happening in the last few revisions (maybe even only this one, I am not sure)

I haven't installed new plugins since installing v9  :)

I also get this sometimes.  It's only happened a couple of times (seems to have started 3-4 builds ago?).  I cannot determine why or when, but I have had MC suddenly demand my attention a couple of times.  If I had to guess, I would say it's after it finishes doing something in the background (updating tags) it comes in focus no matter what else you're doing.

it still happens with 10.0.98

just in the middle of playing a song, it makes the MC window the topmost window

i reported the same problem in the beta thread a few builds back (93 - 96 ish). it seems to happen at approx 10 min intervals (but not all the time). at first i thought it was to do with media sceduler, but now im not sure.

will let you know if i find anything useful.
