If anybody is experiencing application crashes or failure of programs to open, including MC, Quicken, Office applications, games, and you are a Stardock user, the culprit is likely v3 of IconPackager.  I'll be happy to go into detail if this information is applicable to anyone here.

Thanks, Shelly.  Do you have a link to anything on their site?

Hi Shelly,

I'm running 3.00b.93 and am having no problems on 2 computers.

Did you try different icon packs?

The problems with IconPackager are documented in these threads:

http://forums.stardock.com/?ForumID=169&AID=80615

http://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=169&AID=81275

I became aware of the issue when Quicken no longer opened for me.  A couple of users on the the Quicken forum, plagued by the same problem, narrowed the issue down to IconPackager.   The problem is not just with Quicken, however, as you can see by the messages in the above threads.   MC was running fine for me until I installed the build of IconPackager released yesterday, 3.00b.93.  Immediately after installation, MC consistently crashed when playback was started.  I don't remember the file that was causing the problem, but it had to do with GForce.  Imjustagamer, are you using the new version of GForce platinum?  I immediately uninstalled IconPackager and all became well with MC again. If given a choice between IconPackager and MC, MC wins hands down!

When I get some time, I'll uninstall GForce and reinstall IconPackager and see what happens.

I'm not using GForce at all.... I'm not a vis fan.

Maybe I'm just lucky.....
