A few more people should now have access to the MC12 board.  If you're one of this group, you'll see it on the Forum index.

I also would like to be considered.  I heavily use mc with ipod and tivo, I download many podcasts, and can also test it on xp and vista rc1.

I'd like to have access to the new (old) board too.  I bought a copy of MC12 before the process was tweaked.  I'd like to be able to get new versions; I'm using 12.053, and get help should I need it.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I also have a few bugs I'd like to report.

Hey Jim,

I don't post much, but I've been around for a long while and have purchased every upgrade along the way.  Any chance of having access to MC12 or the MC12 board. I'd be happy to pay my upgrade!

Hey, I know I'm rather new to MC but I have witnessed and have taken part in offering my advice in some of the most (I think) unique features of MC development.  I would love to be part of the beta process of MC 12 and feel that I could offer some useful insight in what I see other companies are doing regarding the [buzzword warning] web2.0 community/sharing boom as well as the increasingly important aspect of HTPCs and multimedia.

Hi,
I'd love to contribute and have access to the MC12 BOARD.  I can offer a unique perspective here - feedback to make MC12 more appealing to DJ/VJs and event hosting.  I've been using MC since v10 and have an extensive customized database.

Sincerely,
-JT

I've also been a long term MC user, since 10 and I would also like the opportunity to beta test 12 if possible. I'm an IT professional so I know what's going on...well, mostly. If there's a chance I would love to be included. I don't really post on any board because I'm usually working on stuff but, like a few others here I lurk enouigh to know what's happening.

As I say, I would be grateful for the chance.....

I've been using MC since version 9 and absolutely love the product. Am also an iPod user and use the media streaming functionality which I love (and which is pretty unique in the marketplace). Can I get access to the MC12 board as well?

Thanks!

I have absolutely no inside knowledge of JRiver's plans regarding the MC12 beta program expansion at all.  That said... I thought I'd mention that I would guess that the next time they signifigantly "expand" the Beta program it would be to open it up to everyone.

It's coming along now far enough that I think they might be starting to re-evaluate that move.

Again.  I could be completely wrong and I'm just guessing here.

Very interesting! I've been downloading/using every released version since MC9. Didn't think MC12 (beta) was out yet. Looking forward to see all improvements! Of course I'd be very glad to be able to check it out now, and give some feedback!  ;)

If it's possible, I would also like to belong of Media Center 12 testers.
I know the software since Media Jukebox.
I make good use of my experiment: find anomalies and bugs.

I have beta tested 10 and 11.  I would love to test out the new version.

My main areas of interest are mp3 tags.. including YADB, splitting of large mp3's into small ones to load on a SanDisk DSUDS.

Thanks for the consideration.

Would it actually help to ask for becoming a beta tester here, or is it just a shout into the dark nothingness? If no, maybe just lock the thread...?

Allthough i've only been using MC for half a year, I'd love to be a beta tester as well. Since i am a software developer, maybe I might be able to contribute? Right now i feel so left out in the cold... :-\

Jim, overlooking the little, erm, *cough* hiccup a few months back, do you feel the closed beta route was more beneficial than being open from the get-go?

It was similar in effectiveness, but easier to manage.  I think we had to do it this way this time, because of our other work.

We still have some work to do, but I think it's far enough along now that it's significantly better than MC11 and reasonably stable.

From a "users" point of view... I felt the private beta program was quite nice.  I didn't feel I had to spend time answering posts explaining functionality (how things work) and was able to concentrate on issues (how things didn't work right).  You know... Less time helping and more time complaining!   ;)  ;D (Just kidding.)

I would say that it might have gone on a bit too long.  Personally, I think it could have been opened up to everyone with the last round of expansion (strictly application-readyness wise, I obviously can't speak to your company's business concerns).

I don't believe JRiver would add these to their products. That's just an excuse to have more private time with version 12.

Hello Jim,

Thanks,

I first made good backups and then downloaded and installed MC 12.
I upgraded right away.

If something comes up I'll let you know.

First impression is great. (I had a peek already from an older beta).

I'm sure it will be great using it. I moved to a new build house 6 weeks ago and made sure everything was arranged for my musical needs and movie needs powered by MC. I have 3 300GB disks for my music (mostly apes) and about 12 400GB discs for my video's. I can even hear music in the bathroom. :P

I advertage MC when people are visiting me and seeing how great evrything works. Now with MC12 I also can enjoy watching video's through the library server.

All the best,

Theo
