I've spent quite a bit of time searching through the forum, but have not found a solution to my problem. I follow the regular process for burning an audio CD, but after the CD is ejected at the end of the burn process, MJ12 freezes. I am forced to do a hard shutdown, and when I try to play the CD after rebooting, it is blank. I am able to successfully burn a CD from the same 50-disc pack using Windows Media Player, however. Here are my stats:

Please help me fix this problem, as I would really like to continue using this program to burn CDs.

Try slowing down the burn rate.

Update to the latest MJ, available at the top of this board.

I turned the burn speed down from Max to 24X. I was able to burn the CD successfully, albeit slowly, but the program still froze after the CD was ejected. There is no error message, but the burn disc window shows the following: writing lead-out and closing session. I have the latest version (MJ 12.0.37).

I haven't received a reply to my March 24 message. Does anybody have a solution to the freeze/crash problem?

Try slowing down further.  Try another PC or another drive.

There are a lot of problems like this that turn out to be virus checkers or other apps.  Try the "Weird problems" link in my signature below.

Drives are cheap.  I might try another one if it were my problem.

As I mentioned in my first post, I was able to successfully burn a CD using Windows Media Player on the same drive. Slowing down the burn any further is just not practical for multiple burns. Even at 24x, it took a long time. However, I will try playing around with my applications, specifically my antivirus program (BitDefender Antivirus 2008). I was unable to find anything useful in the "weird problems" link.

As a test, it would tell us something.

Please take another look.  This one, for example, looked similar.

Uninstalling bitdefender antivirus 2008 solved the CD burning issue, so now it's just a matter of finding out if I can make an exception for media jukebox upon reinstall of the antivirus software.
