New DirectShow Video Renderer
« on: April 08, 2009, 06:04:58 pm »

Anyone had a play with this yet - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146228 .  I've got it registered on my system but it does not appear in the DirectShow drop down lists in the file playback options.

Thanks
Nathan

I'm pretty sure they'll have to explicitly add it.  I am trying it now with the "special" build of MPC-HC and there's a new Reclock that supports it.

Thanks - I've seen the posts on Reclock as well.

I "thought" that JR just shows all available DirectShow filters and lets you pick but.....

I think that's true for filters, but not for renderers.

Can we turn this into an official request to have the madVR added to MC?  ;)

Madshi has a new build (.4) that is very stable (with multi-mon) and generally works very well (though decidedly beta), but is missing some features (like subtitles, etc.).  This is shaping up to be a very special video renderer if you have the video card to support it.

Can the thread also be moved to the main MC13 board as I think we will find a few very keen users of both products.
Thanks

Does anyone know whether taking screengrabs in MC will be possible with this renderer?

Does it still take 3 seconds to load the 3dlut for every file? In my book that outweighs the benefits of a better dither, which while better, it's not that much better than say Haali's. Maybe I have too many video clips, but I can't take it, every 3-4 minutes - pause.

My suggestion would be to follow the thread a doom9 that was created for the release of the madVR.  You'll note that v.6 adds a few new options, one being the ability to bypass 3dlut completely.
