Sony BD DLNA gets only 2ch audio
« on: November 18, 2012, 11:34:19 am »

Hi folks.  Relatively new user, and I'm running MC 18.074.

I have two Sony Blu-Ray players.  I can get them working using the Sony BD/TV DLNA template, but I can't for the life of me get it to play any of my files in 5.1ch audio.  It always seems to downconvert to 2-ch.

I've dinked endlessly with the settings.  I've even gone so far as to install Serviio, which proved to me that 5.1 audio over DLNA was possible, and that my files aren't somehow universally miscoded.  Am I doing something wrong here (quite likely), or is this some kind of JRiver shortcoming?

Audio - Convert Unsupported (currently, tried them all), uncompressed -L16 (Also tried lots of variations here)
Video - MPEG2/DVD (Picture looks perfect)

Are they flac??
If so, just try setting audio to "never convert"

...and does the Sony BD even support Multichannel flac?
Some units that support flac only support 2-channel.
