Unfortunately not for me, tried several different one with no luck even after changing file type to SACD within built in Explorer, Foobar plays them as native mode DSD as expected
Leave the SACD file type as .ISO .

And you have to import the SACD files for them to be played by MC20.

Thanks for the wide scrollbars.

A right click slideshow based of the currently playing albums folder (with options for sub folders - /art/images/coverart), and with the option of the rotated reflection effect (with quality setting).  All on the right click context menu when right clicking over the cover image (standard view).  A cover art slideshow from the currently playing album folder - rotated reflection effect.

A couple more for the list.

1.  Option to not auto play when changing playlists.

2.  When changing playlists, and or starting MC up - to scroll down and highlight the last playing file (and options around this, inc type of highlight and colours).

I use playlists extensively. I would like to make a second request to have the option to remove duplicates by the title/ name of song as opposed to how MC removes duplicates only if they have the same album name. If you have multiple greatest hit albums by an artist you are going  to have duplicates. I  am not a programmer and so in don't know how complicated it would be but I would think you could have two filters. The first would be by type i.e. flac, wma, mp3 and this would be in a priority format meaning you could move up the list on which type of file would be kept. Secondly if you have duplicates of the same type i.e. same name songs in flac it would remove by file size. If the duplicate cant be removed with these two filters then it would just do as it does now and leave the duplicates in the playlist and one would have to remove manually. Thanks for any consideration.

I am an audio only user - If possible it would be really great to have each CD get assigned a permanent identifying number (tag) when ripped. We want to keep our physical CD's as a backup and would love to be able to find a CD quickly by referencing its ID number in JRiver. We have multiple people ripping CD's and when the number is assigned manually we are accidentally getting skipped and duplicate numbers. This feature would drastically improve things for us, I appreciate your consideration!

Just refreshing my other suggestions:

A right click slideshow based of the currently playing albums folder (with options for sub folders - /art/images/coverart), and with the option of the rotated reflection effect (with quality setting).  All on the right click context menu when right clicking over the cover image (standard view).  A cover art slideshow from the currently playing album folder - rotated reflection effect.

and

1.  Option to not auto play when changing playlists in the standard view, the playlist buttons.

2.  When changing playlists, and or starting MC up - to scroll down and highlight the last playing file (and options around this, inc type of highlight and colours).

How about being able to set sorting to 'None' on a library field in Theater View, so that you can do it all in 'Set rules for display'.

I've found that if you have sorting at the field level to say Ascending, but in 'Set rules for Display' you have it as Series (a-z), Date (a-z), Disc # (a-z), the sorting on the library field takes precedence, so it becomes:

Name > Series > Date > Disc #

Basically I want Theater View to show the Name field for items, but I would like it to be sorted by the Series field (ascending), so it keeps film franchises/series next to each other.

So I'd have it sorted like this:

Series > Date (oldest first) > Disc #

This would result in these being all ordered under 'I', for the Indiana Jones collection, because the Series value is Indiana Jones:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Rather than:

I:

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

...
...

R:

Raiders of the Lost Ark

A wave form seek bar/scrub window.  Not separate by default but enabled to fit (dock) nicely above the playlist buttons in standard view (just below cover art)  or for that matter just above the cover art, or anywhere on the standard view (maybe). This could if one wanted to replacing the timeline altogether (optional),  replacing with a waveform seek/scrub section.

With quality/graphics options to optimise and refine for those with more gpu power.  Smoothing, anti-aliasing to the point it almost looks soft focus.  You know, just good graphics ideas we could build on.

I would actually love to have an all in one 'soundcloud' type waveform seekbar option to play with.  Integrated into standard view either in the same place as the timeline is now.  And other options for placement/detachment.

An audio only UI/option for JRiver.  A way to completely change it into an audio only looking app.  Options there in far beyond what we have now.

inc behind the scenes stuff like the WindowX-Fidelizer does.. or your own versions of these options if they do actually work.   I have no idea if JRiver already does stuff like WindowX-Fidelizer or if its even necessary.  Just feels better sometimes to be able to twiddle and tweak :)

More of a next version kind of request.  Remembering I'm just an end user and can only suggest broad concept ideas.  The clever JRiver people will know more about these ideas than I do.

I'm a big fan of forward looking graphic user interfaces.  Specifically Sci-Fi film computer interfaces we see in films like the tom Cruise film 'Oblivion', the large work station his partner sits at and we see those wide shots of a fantastic interface.    All fiction I know, but very good looking.

The 3D UI's we see in Tron legacy 2010.

The UI artists that do these jobs and dream them up.  all mostly work on a grid base pattern.

Having people with vision like this help you guys would be very good for the next generation of your UI.

The back end all working in perfect sync with a very intuitive front end.  No need for scripting and code entered into text fields.  As we progress into the next decade I would fully expect all this to be done behind very easy to understand UI for us end users.   And keyboard mapping all done via in app UI pages and not X or Y text files.

You have great software in JRiver,  but I do feel its UI and skin options are a bit stagnant.   I prefer black and dark grey skins, for my eyes and on my large places Tv's around the house.   Well not stagnant as such but about at the end of what can be done skin wise / hook-in to the back end, in my opinion as a non technical end user.  This might be a very unpopular view.

I'm a great fan of JRiver and use it for hours each and every day. which is why I'm constantly thinking about how it can evolve.

Hence my wide scrollbar idea (which I love),  and the great cover art slideshow idea in standard view (rotated-mirrored) based on the currently playing tracks/album folder/sub art folder.    And other ideas just reposted by me like the soundcloud like timeline seek/scrub bar.

Forward into 2015 now, what surprises with the dev's deliver next.

#1 - Build in support for Netflix (as a bunch of other devices, as smart tv's, xbox one, playstation and so on has it I do not quite get why this is so hard to get into JRiver...)
or if that is not doable
#1.2 - Predefined commands to launch external player for netflix (Windows 8.1 app for example)

#2 - 3D support
or if that is not doable
#2.1 - Predefined commands to launch external 3D player, configured to support known players and easy instructions how to install them

I'm, and other also I assume, are using huge amounts of time to try to figure out how to do this, it would add great value if this was predefined in MC with instructions about what external programs that is known to be working.

+1 for 3d support.

Also, a revision of the ASIO line in a would be great so that we can use jriver for playing back external analog sources (such as vinyl)  using sampling rates above 96Khz. Also a meter showing signal volume received would be great.

Another nice to have would native support for  Jack Audio Router

Because Netflix disabled their public API and isn't allowing smaller developers like JRiver access anymore, so this isn't doable.

#2 - 3D support

Like BD menu support, this isn't possible either due to various, complicated reasons.

Audio only option  :)   good stuff!

Having just used this option I got to thinking about settings/library back ups, on programme start and every 2 days or so as I believe.   I like using the default OS drive back up, but also copy the library mc 20 folder to another back up drive also, weekly/monthly, manually.

-------------
And as always, all my previous suggestions: Cover art slideshow based on currently playing album folders artwork/sub folder - using rotated/reflection effect (optional) - and quality settings.   All based of the right click place one currently sets the rotated cover art effect.

And a sound cloud type timeline scrub bar up above or below the current timeline- keeping the line graphic but with a good quality waveform there also.  Again with quality settings for those with good gpus.

Next gen MC,  a new approach to the UI,  new GUI artists using newer thinking, with very new skins.  for the dumber user like myself to use tie in features with the back end via intuitive UI options and right click context menus to do a lot of the things you currently have to do some code/script for.

Keyboard/mouse settings and hotkeys all in their own fully interactive windows/screen options.  So no need for editing external files.  All interactive and easy to set/use from inside the programme.

And if you've got some time left over after all this, maybe some solutions for world peace and feeding the staving of planet earth.  Maybe a cure to all cancers,  but only if there's time.

Hello,

just a really small request!

Please, it would be really nice if we could have an option for relative paths for m3u8 playlists for handheld devices! (Right now it seems like it gives out something like relative paths in m3u format)

Thank you :)

would really like to see extended bookmark features for videos in the form of an option to add bookmarks manually. in addition it would be helpful as well to have the video bookmark indicator have a picture of the scene popup when you hover over it(or even better play 2 seconds of video that leads up to the bookmark and 2 seconds after the bookmark) so that you can remember the scene you've bookmarked.

9. Better method for folder-level images, e.g. artist images, which currently at the moment only work when you're using the specific Artist field, and doesn't work for Album Artist or a custom sort artist or expression or whatever, and make generic so that it could work for genres, boxed sets, and custom categories that you like to sort your library by (vinyl, podcasts....etc).  XMBC uses "folder.jpg" but I'd like MC to be more flexible than that. I've suggested before that in the view/category setup, there would be a parameter for specifying what image to display for each value of that category, e.g. default thumbnail that MC generates, or get the image from a file called <path to image directory>\<value>.<ext> where <value> is the current value of that category, e.g. an icon for Blues music could resolve to \\NAS\Category Images\Genres\Blues.jpg, or an image for Abba could be found at \\NAS\Category Images\Artists\Abba.jpg, and an image for the Alien Quadrilogy box set could be found at \\NAS\Category Images\Movies\Boxed Sets\Alien Quadrilogy.jpg. For an album category, this setting would remain at Default MC Thumbnail.

Yes! We need this feature.

It would be nice if there were separate playback behavior options depending on whether playback was started locally in MC or via Gizmo/JRemote.
When I'm using JRemote, I always want video playback to start full-screen on the TV.
When I'm in front of the PC and starting playback, I generally want it to be windowed, so having the video go fullscreen and then manually switching it back to being windowed is rather inconvenient.

When changing the car radio playlists via the buttons in standard view, an option to disable auto play that playlist.   In the appropriate options section.

(I don't remember if it was first suggested in this thread, but I think it was...)

+1 for the request for a tooltip/balloon on mouseover of the seekbar to display exactly where the new position would be - if you did click there.

For example, if someone said "OMG that scene at 1:34:30 !" then you can move your mouse pointer over the seekbar until it is about 1:34 and then click, rather than guessing.

Almost all other media players have this.

Seems like a good idea.   Also having the option to display a soundcloud like waveform scrub time line could also help and also be something quite visually interesting to look at.

Also, with the feature where the audio path shows blue (direct connection etc) for the dark skins like Black on Black.

It would be really useful if we could have for each track a column of the Playlist-Paths it appears in, and an arrow, in order to be able to easily navigate to each of those playlists. Also, searching in the Playlists pane, would complete the Playlists browsing needs. Thanks :)

It would be nice if the wdm driver would accept compressed formats to perform also the decoding in jriver. For example, Netflix app for windows 8 decodes dolby stereo tracks and automatically performs the upmix to multichannel, and there is no telling which matrix (pro logic II?) it is using.

it would seem (from this point of view LOL) that if we can tag series by simply putting images in the folder, we should be able to put images in ANY folder that has a tag...?

Artist, Genre, Album...heck there are a ton of possible fun things to do with this one.  keywords...people, places...

There was also a recent request for JRemote to be able to display configurable folder level images (see http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=95008.msg656063#msg656063) - the answer is that it will display whatever is sent to it by MC, so it's the same request.

It would be nice to be able to add delays to remote commands that are shorter than 1 second, 1 second is a long time if you just need to send several commands after each other, but no delay is too quick.

I would like the JRiver-icons for pictures, videos and music to be different, its somewhat annoying to browse the files and not easily be able to see the difference between a movie and its cover art file for instance.

I would like static playlists (not smartlists), to:

1. Not change themselfs without the user changing them, that is things like removing files not in the library from the playlist and so on. Which songs are in the list is important information.

2. Be able to be tagged, have a star-rating and so on. I would for instance like to star the playlist that contains an album, but not each individual song in the album should be starred and/or have the same rating.

Both might possible be implemented by making a playlist a regular database entry(?)

If you referring to files in Windows Explorer that are associated with JRiver MediaCenter, then that is a topic that has many long threads (which are probably in the sub-Forums for older versions).

IIRC, the user whose user-id is a long number starting with 6, created a set of icons...

The ability to add the subtitles (if present) from the original, to the transcoded MP4-file during transcoding. The option to perform some volume normalization to make dialogue easier to hear on planes and so on during transcoding.

I would like for [Name] to work in Theater View the way it works in Standard View, that is: returning the display name for the given grouping. Right now it appears to return the first name of the first track in the grouping.

Or, alternately, if we could get a new expression type that allows for the display name to be altered. The problem is discussed here http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=93242 and here http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=94744.0

Youtube feature request.

The ability to  subscribe to a Youtube channel and have automatically download the latest videos.

Also, the ability to download a video without opening the video page (without left-clicking the link and going to another webpage).

Thank you

Option to disable timeshifting in TV.  It uses unnecessary resources if you don't need it.

What about Bandcamp integration? The service has rapidly become a credible platform for artists and labels to digitally release their own music for streaming and for download in a variety of formats, to include FLAC and ALAC. I would love to see it as an option under the audio section in theatre view in much the same way that Youtube is in the video section, for the purposes of streaming tracks inside the player.

More popular than Bandcamp is Soundcloud, which is similar, but also includes label-authorized material.

Both have aspects as "audio-only Youtubes".

Most requests are in the video/television area but I find myself spending more and more time listening to internet radio and losing interest in TV. I find that MC is not easy to use for this - seems that the connected media section is intended for it but I find this clunky and limited.

+1!!!
