Ansi Emulation

Our Company supports users of our software that is installed on SCO-Unix and use terminal emulators on their PC's. I have a user who has a Unix server with SCO 5.06 and the  TCP-PRO and Alpha-com on their PC's. When using Alpha-com with the ansi emulation everthing works fine but when using TCP-PRO with ansi emulation the line draw graphics will not display correctly. They are displayed as 3's and D's. (Changing from ansi is not an option at this time.) I downloaded a trial version and got the same results. I also use Facetwin and have no problem displaying the line draw graphics. Is there a setting I am overlooking? The customer does not want to change emulators but might have to if we can't get this resolved. Any help would be appreciated.

You should have absolutely no problem with line draw characters in the ANSI emulation. Make sure the setting is 25 lines (sco standard) and that you are using 8 bit word length.

I am definitely using Ansi with 25 lines but not sure where to look to make sure i'm using 8 bit word length.  I do not have a problem with Alpha Com or Facet Win but I seem to be using the same settings. Is there something I need to add to my termcap?

The 5.1 client doesn't have the 7/8 bit selection, only the 4.4 client has that. The 5.1 client always does 8 bits.

Can you install the classic (4.4) client and try the same test and post your results?
Also, please us the 4.4 client to do a capture to file (under the file menu).

Get to 1 screen before you see the problem characters, turn capture to file on, do the screen that gives you the trouble and turn capture to file off.

Please send the resulting dejadump.dat file to the address I send you in an IM.

Thanks
