Installing DejaWint on Windows 7
« on: October 29, 2010, 01:43:01 pm »

Hi, we recently purchased about 15 new Dell PC's equipped with Windows 7 Professional.  At the time I didn't really give a thought to whether dejawint would work or not but the time came and we were able to install and work in the software no problem.  The problem I'm now having is we have a dialing center and have 5 rooms each equipped with a supervisor station that we float about 10 supervisors in and out of per room.  I found that when new users login to the PC and try to open dejawint it asks for a sequence number which had already been established when I originally set the PC's up.  Does anyone have any experience loading dejawint with Windows 7 and establishing to the point when new users login the program is already set.  Similar to the way it works in Windows XP.

Thanks,
John

You have to enter the sequence number once after installing the program on a particular PC/workstation. You should never have to enter it again unless you completely uninstall and reinstall the program. If you have software (like some antivirus programs) that is preventing writing to the registry under HKCU then you'll have to disable it long enough for the sequence number to be stored.

Bob,

Good thought and I will give that a try.  Currently we are running the corporate version of AVG.

Thanks,

Bob,

I uninstalled AVG and loaded Dejawint on a machine I have and unfortuantely no luck.  Windows 7 seems to have a different way of loading applications vs. Windows XP.  Any additional suggestions?

What version/build of ICE.TCP PLUS (Help > About) are you installing?
