Terminal not defined
« on: May 11, 2004, 03:54:34 pm »

I get this error message after I log onto this workstation.

ERROR: This terminal is not defined in TERMINAL file.

This terminal cannot be used to execute BASIC since
it is not listed in the TERMINAL file.  The file must
be modified if you wish to run BASIC from this terminal.

How do I modify the TERMINAL file to run BASIC from this terminal?

This is a message sent by the host computer you are connecting to.  The program can connect to a variety of different hosts, with numerous error message, so I can't tell you definitively what the error is, but looks like the host does not recognize the terminal that is set in your profile.

Check with your system administrator to find out the terminal type you should be using, then set the terminal type in the profile you are using to connect (most likely it is the "default" profile.
