Telnet Pro 5.1.19, font size
« on: March 23, 2007, 01:30:23 pm »

After getting alot of resistance from our 250 or so users to upgrading from DejaVu 4.4, we are once again trying to go to a newer version and are testing Telnet Pro on a small group of users, but many are having the same complaint.

One of our most common reports we run produces a 128-column screen output, and on the old software, the window would widen to accommodate this (it would also adjust to the next-smaller "pre-set" font size), with the font still being a reasonable size.  With the Telnet Pro, the window does not change so the font gets very skinny.

Is there some way to fix the font size or have it behave similarly to the old software?

TelnetPro uses true-type fonts. There aren't distinct font sizes like there are with 4.4 and plus. The result is as you said, the existing font shrinks. If you want to use TelnetPro, the only suggestion I can make is to use a larger screen size to start with so the 132 mode is a reasonable size. Under view->options check the "save windows size and position on exit" selection.

Is there a particular feature that you wanted to use from TelnetPro that isn't in 4.4? The emulation is the same and there are some advantages to the fixed fonts as you've seen (also they take up somewhat less screen real estate).
