If your customers don't listent o you and they buy cheap USB winprinters anyway, especially the all in one print /scan / fax crap, this little trick will allow them to print to the printer. It's a little bit of extra work for them, but it will teach them to listen to you next time.
Create a printer in Windows, local printer, uncheck auto detect, next
create new port, local port
for the port name, get the patch to the All Users desktop, typically C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop,
paste that path in the port name box
add a filename to the end of the path, something like \Keypoint_Printout.txt
that will make it always print to the same file on the desktop, no prompting required
click OK
manuf: Generic
printer: Generic / text only
type a name for the printer, i.e. Keypoint Print to Text File
set no for default printer.
do not share
yes test page (that will just print a test page to the file on the desktop)
Then in ICELP, configure it to use the windows printer you just named.
Now when they send a print job, ICELP will capture it, and send the text output to a text file on their desktop.
Then they have to open that text file, usually in notepad, and then they can print it to the USB printer.
