Screen Size columns fonts
« on: June 05, 2006, 02:45:37 pm »

Version : 5.1.26
OS: XP SP2
Connection: ssh

Profile:

ICE 437 (no bold font)

IBM 3151 (25 LINE) [25 lines, 80 columns, Memory buffer 200], Send on every echo, remote echo

{Everything else defaults}

This happens on a few machines so maybe video card resolution.

Anyway,

Log in to a ibm box, executes start up procedure and presents front end to db. The screen is set to 25 lines, 80 columns.

Move within the application - some displays, the last couple of columns are not showing. Using mouse arrow move the Telnet Pro border in and out (font and layout shrinks or re-adjusts) and the missing columns display.

Log off, log back in - same problem emerges.

We have been using the Telnet Pro application for 7-8 years and the vast majority you set up and they require no further massaging.

[This happens whether a user has administrator privileges or not on the machine if related to registry settings].

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Peter

First off, I assume you have created a custom terminfo entry for the 3151 as the default aix 3151 terminfo is 24 lines?

Second, in the past this has always turned out to be a problem with the windows video driver. You could look for an update to the driver on the manufacturers web site or sometimes if you switch color depth the problem goes away (for example try 16 bit color instead of 24 or 32).

Thanks Bob,

[Yes we have a custom entry for the 25 lines].

I hoped you wouldn't suggest that.  ;)
