Annoying Windows updates
« on: September 11, 2015, 06:40:59 pm »

Is there any way to turn off Windows frequent updates in a dedicated music server? I am concerned that this will happen while listening intently, completely breaking the spell of the music, and I will then have to start up MC again after Windows restarts the computer. I assume that mfgs of Windows based all-in-one servers, such as Baetis, have been able to do this.

In Windows click the Start icon.
Type Windows Update in the search bar.
Select Windows Update.
Click Change Settings on the left.

Mohave, here's an interesting update. What you suggested was easy to do, but it didn't work. The next time there was a Windows update, I found that my computer did restart automatically. I searched further and found this more hidden way of turning off auto restart: http://www.techspot.com/guides/230-prevent-automatic-windows-update-restarts/  I used the Permanent Fix for Windows Vista/7 on my Win 7 Pro machines This has been working for weeks, so I feel confident in recommending it.
