Cross Tagging Issues
« on: September 11, 2003, 06:31:22 am »

Hello,
Doing some tagging the following issue came up:

I have a list field "Topic" and a list field "Subtopic" and let's say an image named "Golden Gate Bridge at Sunset". Now I tag the pic as topic "Nature" and subtopic "Sunsets" and at the same time as topic "Architecture" and subtopic "Bridges". Now, "Bridges" is obviously a subtopic of "Architecture" and "Sunsets"  a subtopic of "Nature".

I have a view scheme displaying Topic>Subtopic. Now, if I select "Architecture" in the topic pane, I get "Bridges" and "Sunsets" in the subtopic pane and viceversa. That does not look very good, as "Sunsets" is definitely not a subtopic of "Architecture".

Obviously there is no way to assign subtopics only to a certain topic. Correct? Or is there any solutions I am not aware of? Thanks for helping!

You have to use playlist groups with child playlists if you want a hierarchy.

Some sort of list field grouping would be a nice addition to a future version.  We're still trying to figure out the best way to handle it though.

Thanks Jaguu.
