MC 21, exaSound E22, DSD4 Upsampling not working
Matt:
--- Quote from: blgentry on September 30, 2015, 04:45:24 pm ---It's my understanding that upconverting (or down converting) to/from DSD goes through PCM in the middle. But I could be WRONG. I'm pretty sure I read it, but again, I don't speak for JRiver. Perhaps someone more official can comment on this.

Every handling except bitstreaming the DSD natively will go through a PCM conversion stage. It's a pretty awesome quality, so whether that's audible at all is debatable.

So, if i like it, I shouldn’t worry about it?
I guess that’s what I need to understand!
And that turning OFF bitstreaming is the way to get up sampling?
TIA.

As with all things audio, the answer to that question is YES.

Yes again.
Brian.

OK, Thanks, I learned a thing or two today!
As long as it’s working, and I know how to work it...
jimdukey:
What about upsampling PCM to 2x or 4x DSD?
Is it Pcm-Dsd-Pcm-Dsd?
Upsampling DSD to 2x or 4x DSD can’t be done without the PCM step?
