Log Files

I keep finding log files listed amongst my music.  Is there a way to turn these off?

Are these CD ripping logs?  Do you rip with MC?  If so, you can turn off MC's log file for ripping:

Tools > Options > CD > File Management > auto-create log file in secure mode

I would personally leave it "on", but it's your choice.

These aren't ripping logs.  I investigated further and it turns out, these are files left behind by "GoodSync" which I'm using for backup, which JRiver is then grabbing and importing using auto-import.  So file this one under "user error"  :-[

If you haven't figured it out yet, MC can be configured to only import certain file types, or skip certain file types:

Tools > Options > Library & Folders > Configure auto import > Folders > (select a folder) > (edit) > Import these file types > (make your selections)

I did see this, but I couldn't find an entry for ".log" files in the list, nor did I see a way to add that exception manually.

"log" shouldn't be audio or video.  Do you have Data checked?  One of the entries under data includes .log .

I only see three options, Audio, Playlists and Other.

Hmm, strange.  I guess maybe you have Data, Images, and Video turned off?  Which would happen if you were in Audio Only Mode.  (View menu > Audio Only).  Or you can turn those things on and off individually.  Tools > Options > General > Features > (select features here including Data) .

I'm not sure why it would be importing things that aren't in your feature set though.  Do these log files in in ".log" ?  Or some other extension?

This seems to have done the trick, I now can see the Data menu within configure auto-import.  Thank you!
Yes the log files end with a .log extension.
