DVB-S scan misses several channels/frequencies
« on: June 24, 2016, 05:21:24 pm »

Hello, tried a fresh DVB-S full scan (also tried thorough scan) and noticed several channels are not found (they are confirmed as working in the same setup). For example in this list, the 10992 frequency is missing (Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai News 24 etc. - frequency is reported as 10992.16 here). The 11804 frequencies for example, are found normally by the channel scan (Rai Storia, Rai Gulp etc.).

Are you able to play these channels in MC if you manually add them in MC?

The log shows that the channels in Rai group are scrambled.

Yes, I managed to add them manually and they work (working settings attached for Rai News 24 and Rai 3). The Rai group on 10992 is not encrypted, except for some programs (usually sports, Euro 2016 for example). Rai News is completely free.

Maybe it is my misunderstanding.  I thought scrambled channels are DRM'ed.  I guess I should allow these channels to be saved.

No, they just enable encryption (to be decoded by the user's smart card, if any) on a per show/programme basis. Most RAI programming is free.
