I like to think I've gotten petty good at making smartlists, but there is one thing which I haven't figured out how to do (if it indeed can be done?)  Is there a way to have MC come up with a random year and pull a random selection of songs from that year (plus or miinus a year or two?

I'm pretty hopeless with smartlists on account of not being up to speed with all available syntax, but, this would appear to do what you want....

[Media Type]=[Audio] [Date (year)]=1981-1983 ~sort=[Random] ~n=50

just needs the year range and limit tweaked to your liking.

I'll be well chuffed if that's what you want, but unsurprised if it's not

I've actually got a smartlist very similar to that, but it still lacks a critical component.  I would like MC to select the year at random, so sometimes it plays songs from 1963 +- 1 and others it'll play 1973 +- 1, etc.
