I purchased Mac master license, installed MC 19 for Mac. Have tried over many months updating to latest Mac MC w/o success.  Have used correct JR MC link from JR download site.

I have many attempts against my master license which I don't think should be counted against my license given I cannot install correctly.

It does not install like previous versions of MC I've had on Win or Mac. Installs a page on my Mac with  large MC icon above and applications page image with black arrow on bottom. Clicking on one or the other does nothing, going to my downloads and clicking on one of two MC for mac files gives the agree to legal agreement, clicking on other file places a JR MC icon on my desktop, funny thing is this icon has a disc slot on the icon. Clicking on it gives message, "do you want to open this disc image?"

Sometimes it opens, often it doesn't. When it does I finally get to the JR MC interface - but this install is not right. All my past JR MC installs set up easy and placed JR MC in my programs, placed JR icon shortcut on desktop/, or on Mac in application bar.

It's hard to understand what is happening, but ...

Installing MC doesn't use a license.

Installing the license won't install the program.

Don't try installing the license until you have MC installed.

You may just be missing the step of dragging MC to the Applications folder.

BG:  Do you have a license for MC21, MC20, or MC19?

Installing MC should be the same for all 3.  It's easy.  Just drag the large MC icon over the top of the Applications folder.  When you see a green + sign appear in the middle, let go of the mouse button.  MC should then copy into the Applications folder.  Now it is "installed".  You will run it from Applications after that to launch it.  You can, of course, pin it to the dock so it stays there to be launched later right from the Dock.  (right click on icon in dock) > Options > Keep In Dock.

Licensing your copy should be as easy as double clicking the MJR file that JRiver sends you when you do a restore.  Once MC launches, and you have double clicked the MJR file, quit and restart MC.  Then check the license info:  Help > Registration Info.

BG:  Download the latest MC21 from the top of this forum.  MC19 is a rather old version and it won't work with an MC21 license.

Installs don't decrease your restores.  Only restoring your license does.

Is your MC 21 for Mac working now?

I know you have MC21 for Windows now, but if you wanted for some reason to run MC19 on Win10, you could do it by right clicking and selecting a compatibility option.  I'm on a Mac currently so I can't remember the exact menu option, but you can make it work.

Jim says you have an MC21 Master license.  That covers MC21 on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
