Dear all
Since my new amplifier (mark levinson 585) has a usb dac input I bought a mac mini (8gb) to be used as a streamer.
To test which software sounds best I installed as demoversions in this order
Bit perfect
Pure sound
Audirvana
Amara
And then JRiver.
I chose JRiver and bought it because it sounded better than the second best pure music and it had his own media management software independent of itunes.

After I optimised the system I installed J remote and splashtop remote software connected an extra hdd on it.
It sounded unbelievable good for a while.
Suddenly after one demoversion of audirvana stopped the jriver system did not sound good anymore.
Very grainy and ultra bright.
I can not get it sound good anymore.
The music is on a separate hdd connected by thunderbolt.
What can I do.

Reboot the Mac Mini.

Check MC's output formats and make sure they are set to pass through all of the resolutions that the Levinson can play.

The reboot might do it.  Just don't run audirvana again before testing MC.
