I installed MC21 with my WIN 8 computer and used one of my 10 licenses.  Everything worked fine.  I upgraded to WIN 10 and need to reinstall MC21.  Will that burn another license?  I assume it should not since it is on the same computer.  Would like to know before I do the reinstall.

probably but not to worry about burning up installs they can be reset by Admins if needed

It will if your licence-file used for the win8 is older than 14 days, so you cant reuse that. It seldom a problem, I have MC installed on 5 computers in the house and have never used all the licences in a year.

I reinstalled it and apparently the answer is that it does not use another license.     Thanks for the reply

Yeah. Sorry, those answers were wrong. MC does not require re-licensing after you upgrade a machine to Windows 10. If you wiped the drive on the machine and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 (or told the upgrade not to preserve settings), that would require you to re-activate your license. But as long as you do the regular upgrade path (from Windows 8 or 8.1 at least, I haven't done a Windows 7 > 10 migration yet) and preserve applications and settings, then it shouldn't mess up your license.

After upgrading to Windows 10, you do have to run through the installer for MC again to get everything registered properly, but this is no different than installing any other new build of MC (and you should just update to the latest one while you're at it).
