The best compact discs are Taiyo Yuden because they have the lowest error rate. These discs can be acquired by CD/DVD duplication companies such as Disc Makers. Also, the data on commercial CD's is stamped, not burned.

Tangential fact: HVD (holographic versatile discs) hold 6TB of data. This technology surfaced publicly around 2003. Old school.


Also, of course, make sure the disc blank is high quality.  I like Verbatim.  Stay away from Memorex.

I don't think we've seen problems with the quality of CD's for at least 5 years, maybe 10.

Please don't spread stuff you read on other forums.
