My computer automatically installed Windows 10 and now I get this error message when I launch.  Any ideas what to do?  D.

It's very common to have to reinstall MC when upgrading to Win 10.

Just do it. It is very easy & takes little time.

I had the same problem when going from Win 8.1 to 10.

I figured out that MC is Media Center and uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall it and got this message.

Are you an "administrator" on the computer.
Did you try to install as an administrator (where you would right click on the MC install file and select "Run as Administrator")?

That message is from trying to run JRiver.

Download this: http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v21/latest/MediaCenter210086.exe
And go through the install process.

I should have been more clear.  I uninstalled, then installed and when I clicked to run the program I got that.  I just went through the process again and got this, but it did install.  I am thinking that when windows did the upgrade, it made an "administrator" that I didn't know about.

OK, I think I found the problem.  I turned off the admin function using directions from this link.  It also solved a problem I started having when I couldn't click on a link in an email and have it come up.

It's odd you would need to disable UAC.

I have been using Win 10 from the first Technical Preview, through release, and now with the latest Tech Previews as well, and have installed and reinstall MC many. many times without needing to turn off UAC or unknown application prompts.

It prompts for the OK when I install an update, and that's it.

If you hate Win 10, you can always revert as well.

That isn't normal.
If you aren't running on an admin account, Windows should prompt for elevated privileges when installing an application. (like JRiver)
You shouldn't need admin access to run JRiver.

Something is messed up with your permissions.
