Sound cuts out

Been happening 3 times now i think...
suddenly the music just stop getting out of the speakers in the middle of a song, i can still see the levels on JRiver window that the music is playing but no more sound. Quit, open, no go... try another group, no go, Quit, open, no sound...  open Audirvana Plus... sound is there.... reopen JRiver, sound is back...

Mac Mini 16go ram, 10.11.2, bitstreaming DSD, outputting 2DSD, buffer max, hardware max... never had a problem since i bought it at v25...

That sounds like the driver is getting dropped.  Reinitializing it makes it work again.  Stopping MC and Media Server, then restarting probably would also have the same effect.

i didn't try shutting it completely in the back... i always left it open... i just close it in front with my remote... think it stays on sleep.
doing that didn't put sound back. But if it happens again, i'll shut it up on the back and try again opening JRiver to see.

this same thing happens to me ever since mc20 about halfway through that version cycle.  it happens after some time playing usually once a day and the only sure fix for me is to power off the dac (mcintosh d100) and quit mc21 and all back on.

Sounds just cut off now, but this time the graphic in the bar stopped too (nothing was playing anymore). I just hit the play button and it started again.

for those who read this, since last post, i installed 10.11.4 beta that day and it didn't reappear yet  :-)
Maybe i was plagued with a part of the USB problem that many have with El Capitan  :-)
