ActionWindow right click menu remains after select
« on: August 26, 2003, 08:14:26 pm »

Jim asked me to start a new thread on this.  He suggested it may be a video driver problem.  Anything is possible, but it's only the right click menu on the new Action Window, all other right click menus go away after select.

------------------------------

BUG - leftover menus.  Sometimes I'll right click something, make a selection in the popup menu and although the action is carried out, the right click menu remains on the screen and I must click somewhere else before it goes away.

For example - I have Properties shown in the docked Action Window.  I right click in the window and get the popup menu where I can select "Show as Window" which I select.

The Action Window does to to a undocked window, but the right click popup menu remains on my screen and I must click somewhere else to make it go away.

This happens all over MC.

------------------------------------------

The only time I have this problem is dealing with right click on  the action window.  Any other right clicking (like on a track) and making a selection makes the right-click menu go away, as it should.

I'll confirm this and add that it's not a graphical glitch, it's a fully functional right-click menu that doesn't get deactivated properly.  If you click anywhere outside the menu it goes away.

I can confirm this. However it's not quite the same menu, it seems to dissappear and then be redrawn with anything that has changed  - i.e. in the example gkerber gives the "Show as Window" tick now matches the new status.

Maybe since this may be a video driver problem, everyone should cite their card and current drivers.

I can't duplicate this, so you guys must have something in common that is causing this bug.

   Catalyst 3.6

Update:  For the record, I seriously doubt it's a video driver problem.

Yes, and the leftover menu is fully functional.

Exactly the same behavior with a Matrox Millennium G400

Also I'm sure it's not a driver issue.

I just tried undocking my AW as in gkerber's example, and I also get the persistant rightclick menu.

I can make it appear at will by calling the menu from a right click. If I'm going from undocked to docked, I get the menu appear on top of the vizualisation window.
Using a left click on that little icon next to the X button, brings the same menu, and this one behaves correctly.
