I want to love the Play Doctor
« on: January 25, 2016, 05:14:19 am »

adding a modifier to the results of Play Doctor doesn’t seem to work.
like ‘remove duplicates’ of ‘name’ has no effect whatsoever.
however, removing duplicates manually from the Player drop down menu does work.
i often get up to around 30 duplicates within the 1st 100 titles. the variety level makes a difference
but i have yet to see a duplicate free playlist.

making it work via a modifier would be great especially when creating playlists from JRemote which
doesn’t seem to have  a manual removal option.

try setting up in the options from Standard View to remove dupes by including both Artist and Name .. seems to work for me if it has both criteria

you can copy paste if I'm not clear via the import button

Code: [Select]
~nodup=[Artist],[Name]
Not sure how this effects JRemote, but I believe the play doctor setting are global ones .. again not sure but try it. With just names, in standard views I get dupes too.

it doesn't eliminate all dupes but it does cut them down drastically...

interestingly enough, the Play Doctor does manage to find a LOT of songs which i actually like and i probably would have never played otherwise.
the doctor deserves my love just for that! :)
