Remotes that cache ...
« on: February 18, 2016, 06:27:32 am »

I'd like a remote that caches (on Android).  Ideally, I'd like to be able to specify separate cache limits based on wifi versus cell.

As far as I can tell ...

JRemote - no caching, feature has been requested and was acknowledged last summer, but no activity
Gizmo - cache up to 10 songs
eos - no caching (based on user interface of the free version)
Music Canoe - sync'ing instead of caching ... may work for me, but I haven't been able to get canoe to run yet

Did I miss any or get any info wrong?

So far, Gizmo seems to be my only choice, but I'd like to be able to cache more than 10 songs.

In Gizmo, you can set it to cache songs.  You can set the size of the cache.  It will do more than 10 songs.

hmm if you guys could do that in JRemote for IOS you could get rid of the "isync" issues once and for all

Hmmm... I'm running 21.0.1, and the only options I have are "disabled, 1 track, 5 tracks or 10 tracks".

How do I get it to do more?

They're the only options available.
